Chinese Bronze paper weight depicting‘Li Bai’

This scroll weight on a rectangular base, depicting the reclining figure of “Li Bai” with a wine ewer and cup set in front of him, a kneeling boy cleaning his ear.

The Figure appears to depict the celebrated Tang scholar Li Bai (701-762), one of the most acclaimed in Chinese history and a notorious drinker.

銅鑄李白醉酒紙鎮

紙鎮為青銅一體鑄造，李白側臥于席上，一童子跪坐于席前為其掏耳，前置一杯一壺。銅質細膩緊湊，器物表面包漿油潤。
